Welcome back! It's week four already of the One Room Challenge, hosted by Linda at Calling it Home. If you are just tuning in, for six weeks twenty featured designers (and hundreds of guest participants, like me) link up to transform a room and then blog weekly about their progress. This week I had another slight panic because I thought we were further along that we really were. I calmed down, and then that night the participants received an email saying due to all the craziness in weather, for the first time in ORC history we get an extra week. However, I will not take this as permission to go on cruise control. I want this office finished!
Week four found me actually executing the layout I was in love with. After I painted the campaign chest and my magic chair (read this post to see why I will forever be referring to it as this), I moved all the furniture around. Because we all love a great messy before photo, here are some progress shots:
This is before I moved the desk over to the center of the room. Seriously, I LOVE this rug. Ignore that hateful glare in the corner. I am not a photographer, ha!
I am calling this area the library. My goal for next week is organization. It's obvious this room is in dire need of it! I am planning a trip to The Container Store soon to stock up. I also have a few cute prints that I am thinking of hanging above the shelves to create a gallery wall. If I had an unlimited budget, I would have snatched some of these babies up. Oh well. A gal can dream!
And here is the mirror in her new spot. I was really REALLY hoping it would be fine to just lean it, because it is SO heavy. But no, that isn't going to work. Ugh. It still hasn't been hung up, as I am honestly terrified of doing it.
In reality, not a ton got accomplished this week, but I still feel good, extra week or no. Next week I need to get started on the cushion, organization, and fluffing. A quick trip to the fabric store the other day found me eyeing sewing machines again... I sort of miss my old one, but I don't do a ton of sewing anymore. Is it because I no longer have a sewing machine, perhaps? I'll probably be hitting some antique stores, and possibly the Nashville Flea Market which is this weekend. I post a lot more on IG stories, so if you're not following me there and want to, you can find that here. I am in no way as entertaining as Orlando Soria in my stories, though, so you've been warned :)
See you next week!
