Hello, friends! I have missed the last two link ups, and am a tad bit late on getting this posted, but here we are at WEEK SEVEN of the One Room Challenge. Hosted by Linda at Calling it Home, the One Room Challenge is a (typically) six week decorating challenge, where the design obsessed transform a room and blog about it weekly along the way. Wednesdays are the day for the Featured Designers to share their rooms. Thursday is the day for all of the guests signing on to take part. This year we got an extension for the first time, and honestly, I am thrilled by that choice. For some reason, I forget how busy October/Early November is for my family...Anniversary, Halloween, parties, birthday, field trips... and this week my son was sick so I lost a day, and yesterday I had one of my trademark headaches, which is why I am posting on Friday instead of Thursday like the other guest participants.
Blah blah blah, let's get to it, shall we? A little history on my room of choice. For the challenge I decided to redo my office in our rental house. This summer, I left my job to start my own design business, and my goal for this room was to be a fun, inspiring place to spend my office days. I primarily focus on outdoor living, so what better to do than have a nice, bright room that still feels like summer?
Here are two before pictures, one right before we moved in, and one after we moved it.
As soon as we moved in to this house, I knew what I wanted the office to look like. Fast forward two and a half years, and I finally have it!
Yay!!! I am in LOVE with this room now. I love being in here and all the progress that happened. But you want pictures, so here we go: (just keep in mind guys, I am a designer, not a photographer, ha!)
Well, what do you think? Honestly, I couldn't be happier. In the next few days I will write another post or two on the details of the room, the befores of the pieces I made over and a budget breakdown. Trust me when I say there was a tiny budget involved, but I am totally happy with this room and don't feel like I had to skimp on anything.
Hope you guys love it as much as I do! Hopefully the blog posts will be more frequent since I have a comfy chair and inspiring office to work from!
Thank you for following along during this challenge! If you need me, I'll be taking the next few days sifting through the other 200 guest participants and commenting!
See you soon!
